Our Commitment to Sustainability Practices
Choosing Linenmaster as your linen and toweling rental and laundry solutions partner is an investment in the future. We are committed to minimising the impact our business has on the environment and ensuring that our best practices are sustainable, ecological and economical.
As a group we encourage and support our local businesses to invest in technology that is energy and water efficient. Some of our branches have installed a Continuous Batch Washer, which has an intelligent water recovery system. Warm and cold water can be used for different processes and that water can also be recycled, resulting in as little as 8 litres of water being used per kg. It also has a heat exchanger package for warm rinsing and ‘spin turbo’ technology, resulting in better water extraction and lower residual moisture in the fabric, meaning further energy savings in the drying process down the line.
We also research our chemical providers, ensuring they have environmental policies in place that are relevant, innovative, and acted on.
Most of the Linenmaster branches across the country work with Instep to ensure their carbon footprint is minimised. These branches know the exact carbon cost per tonne of laundry and work hard to reduce this figure.
Most recently, one of our branches in Invercargill was awarded a grant through the EEAC to purchase their first Electric Delivery Van, and over the next five years, they have committed to replacing all their delivery vans with electric ones. This is testament to the level of dedication of our local branches to minimise their carbon footprint and keep New Zealand clean.
